Plumes engagées
Shrimati Nicki Minaj

Raajeev Auchambit.
À l’heure du tout à l’image et du buzz sans suite, «l’express» souhaite faire découvrir la plume de poètes, de chanteurs, d’écrivains et de tous ceux qui jettent leur âme sur le papier, et qui mettent en mots des réflexions profondes.
Kya ye insaaf hai? (Is this justice?)
Kya ye tareeqa hai? (Is this the way?)
We don’t hesitate to say Gulzaar Saab,
But never call her Shrimati Nicki Minaj.
Why the gap? What’s the rule?
Why’s respect not always cool?
We say Gulzaar Saab so smooth,
But Nicki Minaj? Suddenly, we disapprove.
Why the double standard game?
Is one not worthy of the same?
Why’s it got all these hidden codes?
Why’s it missing on certain roads?
We don’t vibe to every track–
But disrespect? We take that back.
Respect’s not hard, it’s not bizarre:
Give every Shrimati her full regard.
From desi pens to global mics,
Respect is earned–and it looks alike.
Rap or rhyme, East or West,
Give each woman her full respect.
Shrimati Nicki Minaj – salute.
No debate. That’s the truth.
“Izzat sab ka haq hai.”
(Respect is everyone’s right.)
